The May & Smith Story

Our firm opened in November 1958 when Richard L. May went into private practice after graduation from the University of Baltimore School of Law. In 1987, Michael L. May, joined his father after three years with the Anne Arundel County States Attorneys Office. Patrick M. Smith joined the firm in 1990 and May & Smith, P.A. began its journey to what it is today. A firm dedicated to helping people throughout the state of Maryland. We have built our firm on our reputation. We do not advertise. Our clients are referrals from previous satisfied clients. People seek our representation based on the testimonies of their family and friends.

Over the years, there have been many Associates with our firm that have gone on to various Court positions, including Court Judges, Administrative Law Judges, and States Attorneys.
